Conference Program and Event Schedule

Educational program sessions for the 2018 Conference have been selected from all submitted proposals, and the complete schedule of events has been finalized. Once again, OLA is using the Sched.com platform so that attendees can read about sessions online and build a personal schedule.

In addition to an amazing lineup of 61 programs (ranging from 40- to 90-minutes long), highlights for this year include:

Preconferences: Wednesday, April 18, 8:00am-5:00pm
One full-day (8 hours) and five half-day (4 hours) sessions

Public Library Division (PLD) Reception & Dinner: Wednesday, April 18, 6:00-9:00pm
Featured speaker Marnie Webb, CEO of Caravan Studios, a division of TechSoup

Grand Opening keynote speaker: Thursday, April 19, 8:30-10:00am
Erin Helgren, Early Works Site Liaison for the Children’s Institute

President’s Networking Social: Thursday, April 19, 8:00-10:00pm
An opportunity to unwind, socialize, and get to know colleagues from all over the state

Author Presentation Event and Book Signing: Friday, April 20, 5:00-7:00pm
Jordan Sonnenblick, award-winning author of numerous fiction titles for teens. Buy advance tickets for Friday Author Event online here.
(Jordan will also offer a Saturday morning session presentation: “Writing Is Life: Connecting Books to Your Students’ Experiences”)

Saturday keynote speaker: Saturday, April 21, 8:30-9:30am
Patti Dobrowolski, founder of Up Your Creative Genius, a consulting firm that uses visuals and creative processes to help individuals accelerate growth and change in their personal and professional lives
(Patti will also offer a short presentation during the 11:00-11:30am break; details forthcoming!)
